About

Texas Asiatic Archery was founded in Austin, TX, in 2024 to share the history and practice of Asiatic archery while making it accessible to people today. TAA is a diverse and inclusive community of archers dedicated to preserving traditional techniques.

Through education, and practice, we offer a welcoming space to learn, connect, and preserve the ancient tradition of Asiatic archery.

Meet Kristie and Dieter

Kristie and Dieter founded Texas Asiatic Archery to share their passion for traditional Asiatic archery and create a welcoming community in Texas.

Dieter Galvan

  • Dieter who holds a deep respect for martial traditions, leads much of TAA’s technical training. He focuses on preserving authentic methods while making practice approachable for today’s archers, blending history with hands-on experience.

Kristie Bocanegra

  • Kristie, a creative by trade, brings her technical background as a designer to building TAA’s community for both new and experienced archers. She enjoys helping new archers discover what Asiatic archery is and how to apply these techniques in a competition setting.
