TyTyin Open is a two-day competition hosted by South Texas Archery Riders and sponsored by Texas Asiatic Archery. The competition is located at TyTin Ranch, a private property in New Braunfels, TX.

To participate in the horseback archery competition, previous horseback archery experience is required.
To be approved to enter the horseback archery competition, contact the host before registration.
Once approved by the host, you are responsible for transporting your own horse to the event. Your horse must be comfortable navigating a 90-meter track without leaving the track. Your horse must be desensitized to the sound of a bow and arrow.
If you need to lease a horse for the event, please make sure to indicate so during registration.
A horse lease for the event is very limited and a horse lease is not guaranteed by the host.
The host requires two months’ notice for any horse lease for the event. Any inquiries for a horse lease made less than two months from the start of the competition date will not be approved.

Bows
For this competition, only traditional selfbows, including Asiatic, indigenous, and longbows, are allowed. No shelves, no arrow rests, or bows with a lip will be allowed.
Bow poundage must be under 50 lbs at your draw length.
Arrows
Either wood or carbon arrows are allowed for both the ground and horseback archery competitions.
Broadheads are not allowed.

Par time
Each track run will have a par time of 14 seconds. This means a rider and their horse must be comfortable completing a 90-meter track run at a canter at or under 14 seconds.
Horses are not allowed to walk or trot down the track during the competition.
Rider safety
TyTin Open II follows MA3 guidelines to rider safety. Riding helmets are encouraged but are not mandatory. The exception is that competitors under the age of 18 must wear a riding helmet at all times when mounted.
Arrow count
It is preferred to bring a minimum of 24 arrows for the competition.

Bring your friends and family! Spectating is free and open to the public for both days. Please bring your own chair, as seating is limited. No ground blankets.
Parents with young children are required to watch their children at all times.

Street parking is available for free on Bunker St only. Do not park within the property.
